What is an Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon?

Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons are specialized Ophthalmologists (M.D. Eye Surgeons) who have had years of additional extensive fellowship training in plastic surgery of the structures around the eyes and upper face and specifically care for problems involving the eyelids, tear drain, orbits and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and face. The anatomy of the eyelid is extremely complex and the eyelids are crucial to maintaining the aesthetics of the face as well as optimal vision and eye comfort.

The region around the eyes is our sole focus as we are able to care for the eyes and surrounding structures with the utmost expertise. We exclusively operate on the upper face, which is what we do best and refer patients to other experts for treatment of the body or lower face.
